November 4, 2007 A community portal site "Let's go to Jimboucho" has been released.

Kanda Jimboucho is a busy business district located in downtown Tokyo and also known as a mecca for second hand bookstores. It has been attracting many book lovers for years. A non-profit organization Rensou Shuppan(Association Press) has opened a community portal website Let's go to Jimboucho for Kanda Jimbocho. I have designed and programmed "Jimbou Map" and "My Jimboucho" among several contents of the web service. On Let's go to Jimboucho, you can discover numerous second hand bookstores, restaurants and other destinations. We all the staff love Jimboucho and you can feel our love from the web site. I'd like to take this opportunity to say thanks to many people for the cooperation.

Dynamic pages are created with Ruby on Rails. It was fairly easy to build the Ruby on Rails part. It was more difficult to work with Javascript code to hook up to Google Maps. I had a hard time to make it compatible with many browsers, especially with Internet Explorer 6. We worked hard behind the scenes but you will never know :-). We will try our best to work better with designers and understand more about CSS/DOM/Javascript.
